We've all seen timelapse videos taken from one viewpoint, but Mayeul Akpovi offers up a fresh new perspective with his Paris in Motion videos. The combination of motion, the City of Lights, and the music of Massive Attack left us mesmerized, and we are honored to have Mayeul sharing his videos with us today.
Mayeul is from Benin and is currently based in Besançon, France. Mayeul says, "I am interested in capturing time and space as accelerated video while adding an artistic and sometimes cinematic touch. This process is called timelapse."
Part I is made from 3000 photos, 5 days of filming, and two days of editing, while Part II was even more ambitious: 3500 photos over 12 days. As for gear, Mayeul used the following:
- Canon 5D Mark III
- Canon 5D Mark II
- Canon 24-70mm f2.8L USM
- Canon 17-40mm f4L USM
- Filters: ND2 to ND400
- And his feet for long travelling
And for a little glimpse into just how Mayeul achieved these stellar videos, check out the making of below.
