How To Maintain Power on Location with TetherTools

Introducing the Case Relay Camera Power System

Tether Tools has built the first power system for DSLR and Mirrorless cameras to produce constant power with any common 5V USB battery pack or wall power. With this system, it provides a swappable, uninterrupted power source for most DSLR and mirrorless cameras. So, no matter what you are shooting; night photography, astrophotography, video, travel photography or even time-lapses, you won’t need to worry about running out of power.

For photographers and filmmakers that need consistent camera up-time, the Case Relay is critical. With a secondary 1200 mAh charge, you can swap out power sources during mid-shoot, making it so you never have stop video or photo production to change the battery.

The Case Relay is compatible with most models of various camera brands; Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus and Black Magic. They can be powered by any 5V USB power bank, any 2.1+A USB Wall Adapter or any D-tap (VMount) battery system

What you’ll need to maximize the Case Relay Power System:

Relay Camera Coupler

First, you will need to find your Relay Camera Coupler, because, without it, you cannot power your camera. Then you will insert the Relay Camera Coupler directly into your camera battery port.

Rock Solid External Battery Pack

Once your Relay Camera Coupler and Case Relay are connected, the last thing you need is a power source. There are two methods you can use for power: a 5V USB external battery pack or AC power. The new Rock Solid External Battery pack has 10,000 mAh of power, producing 3 to 10 times the power of most camera batteries, depending on the camera. For additional protection, you can add a black or orange Silicone Sleeve to your battery pack.

In situations where the 5V USB external battery pack is unavailable, you can attach a 16-foot USB cable to the Case Relay and connect it to the Rock Solid Dual USB and AC Wall Adapter. Conveniently, the USB cable acts as an extension cord that powers the Case Relay. This is an ideal setup for photographers shooting at studios and photo booths.

Case Relay DC Extension Cable

With the Case Relay DC Extension Cable, you can extend the distance between your camera and the Case Relay Camera Power System by 6.7 feet (2m). The extra cord length allows the Case Relay and USB power source to be set up away from the camera, tripod, or slider—reducing any vibration when swapping out batteries.

D-Tap Connector to USB Power

Whether you are on set or in the studio, you can power your USB devices with batteries you already have. With the new D-tap Connector to USB Power cable, you can maintain power in your electronic devices while continuing to power a light or monitor using a battery with a D-Tap female connector.
