Today, Sony announced not one but two new super-telephoto lenses—the FE 600mm F4 GM OSS super-telephoto prime lens and the FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS super-telephoto zoom lens.
With these new additions, the E-mount lens lineup now has 33 FE lenses and 51 total lenses.
The FE 600mm F4 GM OSS
Following Sony's acclaimed FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS lens, the 600mm will also provide exceptional image quality with fast focusing speed and precision. It will give professional sports, wildlife and news photographers more options to capture subjects from greater distances and still maintain sharp, quality images.
The lens has an 11-blade circular aperture that creates stunning bokeh in images and is coated with Sony's Nano AR coating to prevent any reflections, glare, or ghosting. It is the lightest lens in its class, weighing at 6.17 lbs.
The FE 600mm F4 GM OSS will be available in August 2019 for approximately $12,999.99. Sample images were taken with the FE 600mm F4 GM OSS below:
The FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS
The 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 lens is made for wildlife, sports photographers and many others. It can reach 840 at F9 or 1200mm at F13 with Sony's E-mount 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters. It has in-body stabilization to produce images that are sharp even at an extended telephoto length.
Like the 600mm F4, also features an 11-blade circular aperture that creates beautiful bokeh and Nano AR coating. The FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS will be available in August 2019 for $1,999.99.
