Photo Safari: Bird Photography 101 (November 10th, Saturday)

This is an early morning, golden hour, introduction class to bird photography (adults only). We're here to help you with those blurry shots, out-of-frame birds, focusing on the wrong spot at the wrong time. Nothing is more frustrating than taking a gorgeous wildlife photo, then coming home, loading it to your computer, and seeing you missed the shot. In this class, bird photography experts, Leslie & Mike Anderson will provide you with classroom and hand-on training, assisting every step of the way.

A continental breakfast will be served with coffee, juice and tea. Don't worry, we have you covered with lots of coffee for this early morning class. The Aviary opens at 9am, so you'll have two hours of exclusive coverage.

In the classroom: 1 Hour
Leslie & Mike Anderson will teach a 1 hour class on the skills needed for bird photography
Continental breakfast will be served during the classroom session

In the field: 1.5 Hours
Leslie & Mike Anderson and Darris Howe will lead breakout groups around the Aviary for hands-on learning, where you’ll be able to apply your classroom lesson photographing birds at the Aviary.

Special challenge:
You’ll be able to practice your skills with a short, free-flying bird session with the assistance of our bird show team.

*** Things to note: This is a DSLR-taught class. You should have some knowledge of photography and the technical aspects of your camera. We recommend you practice photographing birds with the lens & camera you’ll bring to class, prior to this class. We suggest bringing a tripod with the larger lenses, but it's not required.
