At the 18mm wide end, the lens attains an MOD of 0.15m (5.9 in) and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2. With an amazing working distance of 5mm (0.2 in), you can get as close as you want to your subject while capturing the background. When shooting with an MOD of 0.15m (5.9 in) at the wide end, the distance between the subject and the front tip of the lens is approximately 5mm (0.2 in). Use precaution so that the front element does not touch the subject when shooting at MOD.

These elements help to produce clear, sharp images from the center to the corners. Chromatic aberration and other optical aberrations are well corrected. In addition, the BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating suppresses ghosting and flare, which commonly occur in backlit scenes. Throughout the entire zoom range, the 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 VC VXD provides both high image quality and soft creamy bokeh.

Using AI technologies, the lens will choose the compensation characteristic for videography at focal lengths of 70mm or less.
